Silly H1N1. It thought it could bring my son down. The sheer force of cuteness prevented it from getting too nasty (as did Tamiflu courtesy of Dr. Ennis. Thank you, sir). He’s back to his usual charming self and is cooing, grabbing his feet triumphantly and generally being awesome. During all of this, he somehow gained weight– he’s up to 17 lbs. 7 oz. Is there a fat camp for 4 month olds?
Here are a few photos from the past week including a scandalous one of his baby butt crack. Oh, how he’ll hate me when he grows up…

I’d like to publicly register my disappointment that Ben’s too young to take trick or treating. As an unrepentant sugar addict, the idea that, once a year, as long as I have a kid in tow with a bedsheet over his/her head, I can go door-to-door and get FREE CANDY GOODNESS from my neighbors makes me understand why some women have dozens of kids: It’s for the potentially unlimited amounts of fun-sized Snickers bars. Stay tuned for a very special Halloween post soon…

Most babies start laughing between 2 and 6 months of age. Ben is right there in the middle, and at the cusp of his 4 month birthday he honored us with some more laughing. Cutest. Thing. EVER. It seems we can usually get him to giggle by tapping his hands together, or by shaking him, but not so much that his eyes roll back in his head. So check it out. Now!

Here are some pictures of Ben from the past week. Be on the look out for an upcoming post highlighting his genius musical skills. WARNING: parents should probably not view that post as they will be left with the sad realization that their own offspring are obviously, painfully inferior…
